Kaimaktsalan is the most well known ski resort in Macedonia and one of the most well known winter destinations in Greece. It is approximatelly 45 klm from the city of Edessa and 140 klm from Thessaloniki.
The nearest village to this area is Agios Athanasios, situated at 1200 meters above sea level. This is the best decision for your accomondation. It is a picturesque village with strong tourist industry especially during the winter, there you can find traditional xenons and hotels for every bugdet. Also you can taste local foods.
During your stay, you can take part in any of the wide range of activities such as skiing or snowboarding during Winter, or horse riding and hiking in the whole magnificent area.
