Pindos nature park, known as Valia Kalda(= valley of the devil), is located between Grevena and Ioannina in a inaccessible area. This park was established in 1966 in order to protect the fauna and flora and its total area reaches 68 990 hectares. It consists of dense forests, steep cliffs and raging torrents.
The Park protects 10 species of reptiles, 7 species of amphibians, 17 species of mammals and 70 species of birds. Furthermore it hosts 415 species of plants and 86 species of mushrooms. Visitors will have the chance to go hiking in the Park and admire nature. There are several villages in the surrounding area for your cozy stay and tavernas.
