The monastery of Philotheoy was founded in the 10th century by Saint Philotheus. It is dedicated to the Annunciation on 25 March.
The most important relics of the monastery, are the miraculous image of the Virgin of “Glykofiloussas”, who was painted by Luke the Evangelist and the image of “Gerontissa Mary”. In the library, there are several manuscripts and other important projects.
