According to the tradition, the monastery was founded in the 11th century. It has been burned three times and was rebuilt. It is dedicated to the memory of Staint Stephen and is celebrated on December 27.
The most remarkable relics of the monastery are the icons of PANAGIA ODIGITRIAS, PANAGIA ANTIFONITRIAS and Saint Stephen. In addition, to the library, two gospels from the 11th centure were stored and also it has many other publications and books.
