The monastery was founded in the 13th century by Constantine Koutloumous. The Monasteries Alypius, Philadelphos Kaliagras was attached to it in subsequent periods. It has undergone many disasters and once it was completely destroyed and recreated.
The church was built in the 16th century and celebrated on August 6. It contains several relics and the miraculous icon of the Virgin called “FOVERA PROSTASIA”. Also, you will find an excellent library with many manuscripts and other documents.
