For your stay, we suggest the Villa Madeleine which is located 70 meters from the beach of Nea Fokea and 200 meters from the village center where you can find a lot of shops, bars, and restaurants. If you want a luxury accommodation, we recommend that you stay at Paressa Palace Villas, an excellent modern residential complex which is located just before the village. Finally, there is the Kiwi hotel which is located in the village and has excellent reviews from guests. Another good place to stay is the Hotel La Mirage which is built on a hill above the sea a few kilometers after Nea Fokea. This hotel has a great beach with a beach bar.
Nea Fokea was founded by refugees from Mikra Asia after the disaster, and the surrounding area has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Nowadays, Nea Fokea counts 1,700 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in tourism and fishing. In the village, there is a police station and a community clinic.
At the port of the village, a Byzantine tower dominates. It has a height of 17 meters and belongs to the monastery of St. Paul which, during the revolutions of 1821, was the headquarters of the revolution leader in Halkidiki, Emmanuel Papas. The village feast takes place each summer on June 29th and 30th in celebration of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Also, the area of the Tower of Nea Fokea has artistic events like the Kassandra Festival.
